RYA Training and Courses

The Alderney Sailing Club is a recognised Royal Yachting Association Training Centre.

The Club offers VHF/GMDSS Radio Short Range Certificate Assessments which may be booked once an online RYA VHF/GMDSS Radio Short Range Certificate Course has been completed online. If you need this qualification please contact Tess Woodnutt on 07781 126 697 – email tesswoodnutt@cwgsy.net


The Sailing Club is running four RYA Dinghy Sailing Courses during the summer holidays. The courses are open to kids aged 10 (or nearly 10) to 16 and and each participant is required to become a Junior Member: £12

The Day Skippers Course (18-22 March) was a success and all eight students received their certificates.

Yacht Masters Course April 2019: Alderney Sailing Club has ten new Yachtmasters and two more Day Skippers who attended this challenging course run by Guernsey instructor John Frankland… and they all passed with flying colours:
