RYA Training and Courses

The Alderney Sailing Club is a recognised Royal Yachting Association Training Centre.

The Club offers VHF/GMDSS Radio Short Range Certificate Assessments which may be booked once an online RYA VHF/GMDSS Radio Short Range Certificate Course has been completed online. If you need this qualification please contact Hugh Harrison – email info@alderneysailingclub.com

VHF DSS Exams, a legal requirement for all users of vhf radios.

ALDERNEY SAILING CLUB COURSES SUMMER 2024:

The Junior Summer Sailing Courses will be on the following dates:

(N.B. Must be able to swim, minimum age 8)

Stage 1                                   22 – 26 July
Stage 2                                  29 July – 2 August – FULLY BOOKED
Stage 3                                  12 – 16 August
Stage 4/introduction to racing   19 – 23 August 

Adult sailing tuition by arrangement. Please enquire. 

POWERBOAT TRAINING

Power Boat RYA  1&2  ( 2-day course)

(N.B. Must be able to swim, minimum age 12)

Fees:  

Sailing Courses:
Resident Children: £110 plus membership  (Fees for local children are reduced as they are eligible for support from The Guernsey Youth Commission and  The Alderney Sports Foundation).

Non Resident children: £220 plus membership.

Powerboat Training:  £300 plus membership
Resident children: £150 plus membership (Fees for local children are reduced as they are eligible for support from The Guernsey Youth Commission and  The Alderney Sports Foundation).
