Welcome To The Alderney Sailing Club

The Alderney Sailing Club was formed in 1964 by a small band of enthusiasts to promote sailing in all its forms on the island. The club’s membership now spreads across many countries.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Alderney Sailing Club and to celebrate this big milestone as well as the official opening of the refurbished clubhouse, a  party took place on Sunday 12 May 2024. The event was very successful and was attended by over 100 members, including 8 previous commodores and the current commodore Nigel Vooght.

The club is a focal point for visiting yachtsmen, motor boaters and their crews and has an active junior section. We cater for different sailing interests, ranging from dinghy sailing to blue water cruising.
With a fleet of Lasers, Mirrors and Laser Picos – mostly owned by the club – junior members are especially welcome and RYA instructors run courses during the summer.

The recently refurbished clubhouse, with its stunning sail deck overlooking Braye Harbour, is a popular first port of call where all visiting crews are guaranteed a warm reception.
