On Sunday 3 May the Alderney Sailing Club was absolutely heaving with members, Alderney residents, sailors from Guernsey and Cherbourg and a 45-strong crew from Poole Racing Club (14 yachts) who enjoyed a warm welcome and a taste of Alderney’s traditional magic Milk-o-Punch served by Commodore Ellis Downes.

The Poole Yacht Racing Club also made their prize-presentations that afternoon and celebrated the birthday of rally organiser Kate Mellor Gibson.
They enjoyed their weekend in Alderney and will all be back next year. Kate Mellor Gibson commented “We all had such a good time at Alderney Sailing Club. Thank you for treating us so very well!”
The next rallies to Alderney will be Brixham Yacht Club (23/24 May) and the JOG Race from Cowes (27 June)
The Alderney Sailing Club has organised a busy diary of sailing, motoring and social events for 2026 which can be viewed on the website www.alderneysailingclub.com
