JOG RACE LANDS IN ALDERNEY WITH 30 YACHTS AND 140 CREW

Despite lack of wind, 30 yachts and 140 crew who took part in this important annual race from Cowes to Alderney , arrived on Saturday 27th in Braye Harbour
Their first port of call was the Alderney Sailing Club – for a welcome drink or two and the prize presentation.
And the winners are:
*Double handed – Rockit Chris Hanson
*Women’s Sailing Series – with alacrity
*Generation JOG – Horizon Hunter – Tom Gurney
*Class 1 – British Soldier
*2nd Horizon Hunter, Sean Richardson
*Class 2 – nightjar, lulu wallis
*Class 3 and irc overall – stan the boat, Toby Gorman
This was Race Organiser Martin Evan’s first JOG Race and he has every reason to be pleased as was Alderney Sailing Club Rear Commodore Dr. Sally Simmons who welcomed the crews.
This morning the race continued back to Cowes – this time with wind in their sails.
We look forward to welcoming them back next year!
