This weekend turned out to be a very enjoyable social and sailing event for local and visiting sailors – starting with welcome drinks and a BBQ on Saturday when the planned rally to Ortac had to be cancelled due to lack of wind.
However, by Sunday the wind had picked up in time for the Round the Island Rally and visiting crew from Gosport and Brixham yacht clubs took part in this event.
In total 7 boats entered the race: 3 boats from Alderney and 4 from the UK completed the rally .
This turned out to be a quick race with the first boat completing the race in around 1.1/2 hours.
The rally concluded with drinks and prize presentation at the clubhouse.

2nd: DESTINY (Brixham Yacht Club) Winner Overall on handicap
3rd: POLAR STAR (Alderney): Winner on Handicap
