Tea Crew Thank-You Party

A BIG THANK-YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL AFTERNOON TEA CREW
At Thursday night’s reception at the Alderney Sailing Club (26 January), held in honour of our fantastic voluntary tea crew, Commodore Hugh Harrison acknowledged the important contribution the afternoon tea team makes towards filling the club’s coffers and helping to finance sailing courses for the youngsters.
Unfortunately, several of the summer tea team members who are currently back in the UK, were unable to join us on this occasion and we hope to arrange another little party this summer to acknowledge their much appreciated efforts.
The afternoon teas, which during the winter months take place every Tuesday from 3:00pm to 4:30pm, also attract non-members and visitors to the island who enjoy the atmosphere and, of course, those delicious home-made cakes!
During the summer months afternoon teas are served on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
A big thank-you also went to the tea rota organisers Lesley Cairnduff and Heike Peck.
Come to the Club next Tuesday and every Tuesday afternoon to enjoy those yummy cakes and service with smile!
LET’S BRING BACK OUR POPULAR CLUB SUPPERS!
Another important and highly popular fundraiser are our informal and very enjoyable club suppers cooked by our club members for our club members.
We are delighted to confirm the first confirmed Club Suppers of the season :
Saturday 11 February : Bangers & Mash, followed by Crumble – dished up by Gill Guille and Richard Ward
Saturday 4 March: Chilli Con Carne cooked to perfection by Helen Ackrill and Candy Osborne
St. Patrick’s Night – Saturday 18th March
rustled up and hosted by Team Cairnduff/ Soane-Sands .
Ideally we would like to host these suppers fortnightly from now until Easter.
If you’re happy to produce and host a supper (main course & dessert at £15 per person), please add your names and chosen date to the list now displayed in the Sailing Club.
