Last night (Friday 10 November) a special little party was held at the Sailing Club for those wonderful volunteers who serve teas with delicious home-made cakes throughout the year to Alderney residents and visitors.
Unfortunately there are quite a few more tea ladies and gentlemen not featured in the group photograph , as they are currently off the island.
This is an important and popular fundraiser which helps financing sailing courses for our youngsters, and Commodore Nigel Vooght presented Heike Peck and Lesley Cairnduff who organise the weekly rota, with a bouquet of flowers.
A big thank you also to PJ’s Jill Guille and Richard Ward for laying in such a generous spread .
Afternoon teas at the clubhouse are served every Tuesday from 3:00pm to 4:30 and in July & August Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and non-members are welcome !
