Preparations are well underway for next week’s Alderney Regatta (29 & 30 August) and all is set for an enjoyable weekend of competitive sailing. Regrettably, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, this year only sailors based in the Bailiwick of Guernsey will be able to take part. Boats from outside the Bailiwick are not allowed to enter Braye Harbour.
However, the response from the Guernsey yacht clubs is very encouraging and the Alderney Sailing Club is looking forward to a welcoming some 25 boats and around 100 crew for the regatta. There is no entry fee for this race and all participants will be offered free moorings and free water taxi.
The organising team hopes that the weather, wind and sea will play their part in making this a successful and enjoyable Alderney 2020 Regatta.
