Introducing new format for traditional events .... and new events:

Traditionally, for the past 20 years or so, the Alderney Sailing Club’s annual black tie Laying-Up Supper -  one of Alderney’s most glamorous events and a social highlight of the year - took place in November with guest speakers and Guests of Honour, including the Commodores from Guernsey’s and Jersey’s yacht clubs.

Now it's time for a change. This year we are introducing new formats and new events:

Fitting-Out Supper: Saturday 15 April  in the Club House.

This event is primarily for club members and is less formal, with a buffet dinner. Members were  invited to produce or donate dishes for the supper . Tickets were just £10 per person, but  with a maximum seating of 55 people, club members had priority. The first Fitting-Out Supper was a very successful evening.

Alderney Sailing Club Summer Ball: Saturday 22 July at the Moorings

This new event took place at the Moorings where a marquee was set up for the night and is open to all members and their guests. It was roaring success and will now become the major annual event. To view photos of the Summer Ball, click here

Laying Up Supper & Prize Presentations: Saturday 2 December  in the Club House.

This traditional annual event will take on a new format and will be quite different from previous Laying-Up Suppers. Dinner will be provided by a professional outside caterer.  Guests of Honour will be the Commodores of the Guernsey and Jersey Yacht Clubs and there will be a prominent Guest Speaker. More information will be available by end October.
